Description
The MMC Connector is an innovative, Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) multi-fiber optical connector designed specifically for next-generation, high-density data center architectures. It combines a reduced-size TMT (Tiny MT) ferrule with US Conec’s DirectConec™ push-pull boot technology to ensure reliable connectivity and easy physical handling in extremely crowded environments.
- Triple the Port Density: Delivers over 3x the cabling port density of standard MPO formats, allowing up to 264 ports in a single rack unit (1RU).
- Effortless Patching: The DirectConec™ push-pull boot enables quick connector insertion and extraction without needing specialized tools.
- Elite Optical Performance: Achieves low insertion loss that exceeds IEC Grade B standards (≤ 0.25 dB for 97% of random intermates).
- Reduced Dust and Wear: The single-latch design is separated from the optical interface, and a precision pre-alignment rail prevents guide-pin stubbing to minimize debris.
- Simplified Polarity Management: Uses asymmetric top-and-bottom rails to prevent incorrect orientation and simplify transmit-to-receive mapping.
- Broad Fiber Compatibility: Works with standard 250 µm fibers as well as smaller 200 µm and 165 µm outer-diameter fibers.
- Seamless Backward Integration: Connects directly to existing MTP® cabling systems through hybrid MTP/MMC adapters.
- Faster Deployment: Supports Mass Insertion (Mi) options to mate multiple connectors at once, reducing port-mapping installation errors.
